Playing Speed Blackjack is essentially the same as any other live version of the game. The big difference here is that you do need to be fast. The game is a quick 7 seat version of blackjack. It is hugely appealing to the more traditional blackjack players out there.

With this setup, each player is dealt their own cards rather than what happens in other similar games where all players have the same two cards. The difference with this game is that once all the players have their first two cards, the next card goes to the player that made their action decision (hit, split, double) the fastest.

After that, cards are dealt on the basis of the speed of the other players. There are autoplay features too. So if a player doesn’t respond in a given time, a hand over 12 will stand whereas one under 11 will automatically be hit.

As with any blackjack game, it is possible to implement some strategies into your gameplay when playing Speed Blackjack. There is the basic blackjack strategy guide, which we recommend you continue to use, even though you are playing at speed.

Some of the basic strategy options that can be used on Speed Blackjack include doubling down on the first two cards, splitting any pairs and so on. You can brush up on any blackjack strategies beforehand, as you won’t have much time to think during these quick rounds of play.

Speed Blackjack has an incredible RTP sitting at a decent 99.29%. What’s even better with this game is that there are plenty of chances to improve this and get even more winnings on a single bet. This is thanks to the various side bets that are in place throughout the game.

On top of any regular bets placed in blackjack, there are also side bets of Perfect Pairs and 21+3 that you can opt to take on. These have slightly lower RTPs than the main game at 95.9% and 96/3%, respectively.

Nevertheless, these are an additional set of options when playing. In addition to these bets, you can use the Bet Behind option, although you do run the risk of sitting behind a slow player and so the subsequent moves will be those autoplay ones listed in the previous section. There are a few key words you need to know when playing blackjack and the same is true of Speed Blackjack. For instance, you need to understand the different actions you can take when you are dealt the cards. First, there’s hit, which means you want to take an additional card and add it to your hand.

If you go bust, it means that the value of your cards has exceeded the target value of 21. To stick means you have opted to keep the cards you have in your hand and not add any other ones to them.

If you fold, you bow out of the game and can’t win any bets. Surrender is a bet you can place if you feel that the dealer is going to beat you — you lose half your bet. Finally, split is when you have two cards of equal value, and you make these into two separate hands.

When playing Speed Blackjack it’s a good idea to know how this variant differs from regular live blackjack games. As a starting point, you need to be aware of just how fast this game is played. The betting and decision time is down by an impressive 7 seconds when compared to other live games, so you do need to be fast.

Remember too, that the faster you make a decision, the greater priority you will be given. Some things are the same though, and these include some of the standard blackjack rules. For instance, the dealer has to stand on both a hard and soft 17.

On top of this, it’s possible to Double Down on the first two cards and to split pairs. However, if you split Aces you will only get one card. Finally, this game does offer insurance, which not all live blackjack games do.

While we love Speed Blackjack this is definitely not for the faint of heart. However, if you want to get the most authentic blackjack experience possible while sitting at home, this is the game to go for. With just seven seats, this is the game that feels the most like sitting in a land-based casino.
